China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, has called on Japan to address what Beijing perceives as inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese leaders regarding Taiwan. This request was made during a meeting in Beijing with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade.

Wang emphasized the need for Japan to adopt a more objective and rational approach towards China, urging the country to handle historical issues with greater care. He highlighted the importance of preserving the political foundation of China-Japan relations and respecting historical lessons. Wang advised that Japan should commit to peaceful development and avoid actions that could exacerbate tensions between the two nations.

In response, Iwaya acknowledged the concerns surrounding the current state of Japan-China relations. The meeting underscored the ongoing complexities in diplomatic interactions between China and Japan, particularly concerning sensitive issues like Taiwan.
