China has launched a new research center dedicated to enhancing the preservation and scientific management of Jiuzhai Valley, an esteemed UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Sichuan Province. This initiative aims to bolster the protection of the site by applying advanced scientific research to its conservation strategies.
The primary focus of the center will be on several critical areas, including geological hazard prevention, post-earthquake ecological restoration, and the conservation of the valley’s unique travertine landscapes and lake ecosystems.
