China expressed its readiness to partner with Middle Eastern countries in safeguarding international shipping routes, advancing economic development, and addressing the root causes of conflicts. In addition to security concerns, the discussions heavily focused on deepening economic ties between China and Egypt, with Xi advocating for cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, communications, electric vehicles, green energy, aerospace, and the digital economy.
China has maintained its position as Egypt’s largest trading partner and primary source of imports for 14 consecutive years, with bilateral trade increasing from $10.21 billion in 2013 to $20.79 billion in 2025. The two nations signed over 20 cooperation agreements encompassing areas such as artificial intelligence, trade, technology, education, transportation, and industrial supply chains. These agreements aim to further solidify their comprehensive strategic partnership, underscoring the commitment to mutual economic and strategic interests.
