Trump’s C5 Gambit: US Aims to Loosen Russia’s Grip on ‘Stans’

by admin477351

In a major geopolitical gambit, US President Donald Trump is set to host the “C5” leaders of Central Asia, a move clearly aimed at loosening Russia’s long-standing grip on the “Stans.”
The summit is reportedly scheduled for November 6. The leaders of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have already confirmed their plans to attend the Washington talks.
Russia’s traditional dominance in the five former Soviet states has been significantly weakened by its invasion of Ukraine, creating a strategic opening.
The US is not alone in recognizing this. China and the EU have also been actively engaging the C5 leaders, hosting their own high-level meetings this year.
The region is a key strategic prize, rich in rare earths and other resources, and poised to become a critical logistics corridor between East and West.
